The Attraction of Lucky Numbers

If you enjoy participating in the lottery then it is more than likely you will continuously choose the same numbers or more commonly, the numbers you feel are deemed lucky for you; but there are several reasons for this.

Indeed, lucky numbers and lottery games go hand in hand, and almost all lottery players will admit to feeling a bit more precious about some numbers than they do others. But why, in this age of science and rational thinking, are lucky numbers so attractive?

In some cases, lucky numbers appeal because they represent something else that is important to us. For example, if we were born on the 12th of August, the numbers 12, 8 and maybe even 128 will have a special significance, at least on a subconscious level. This is possibly why so many lottery players choose to enter “personal” numbers such as anniversaries, ages and birthdays rather than truly random numbers.

Another explanation for why many view some numbers as being luckier than others is because we tend to remember our successes and forget our failures. So, if we think that the number 7 is lucky for us and we happen to win a lottery prize with that specific number, we will remember the event for months, or even years. However, if we play the number 7 and we don’t win a lottery prize we won’t give the matter a second thought. As it goes, such selective memory allows us to believe that certain numbers are actually a lot luckier for us than they really are.

What’s more, some traditions have used superstitious beliefs about the role that numbers play in the cosmos to create both lucky numbers Snapdeal lucky draw  and unlucky numbers. For example, the Bible associates the number 7 with divinity, whilst the number 6 with man.

But even in modern times, numerologists often calculate a lucky number for an individual based on the time and date of birth or the letters that appear in their full name. If a person believes in the underlying theory of biblical or modern numerology, they are likely to believe just as strongly in the products of those theories, which are the numbers themselves.

On a more practical level, having a lucky number (or several lucky numbers) can help the lottery player to fill in their play slips a lot quicker than someone who decides to pick a fresh set of numbers for every draw. The same applies to checking the lottery results – if you know your lucky numbers by heart then you will know at a glance whether or not you have won the top prize.

Although playing lucky numbers doesn’t give you any advantage whatsoever in terms of changing your odds of winning, it can increase your enjoyment of the lottery game itself. As such, playing your lucky numbers has been known to encourage the player in mind, helping you to think more positively and expectantly.

In fact, from playing your lucky numbers it can help you to fully enjoy the idea of becoming the next big lottery winner; and to dream of winning with the same kind of enthusiasm that kids experience in the days leading up to Christmas!
